Summary

Effectiveness of reinforced concrete beams, arches and girders of the same bearing capacity is estimated on criterion of expense of materials. For calculation of bearing capacity traditional design models of structural mechanics are used. It is considered examples, in which the calculated expenses of materials are compared with the same expenses for known samples. On a plane “value of loading – length of span” it is found areas, where one or another of considered constructions is effective.
