Transformation of construction projects management in the context of global digitalization
Introduction. The article discusses the need for systemic qualitative changes in the management structure and requirements for the construction project management process in the context of digital transformation, characterized by a combination of advanced technologies and the integration of physical and digital systems. The importance of considering the problems and aspects of digital transformation in the context of new generations (a qualitatively new cluster of human capital), digital talent, changing the mindset of project managers, as well as key changes in construction project management systems in the digital environment is highlighted.
Problem statement. The construction industry is a fundamental sector of the economy of any country. A construction project is a structural element of the “construction” system, which allows to form the economic effect of the industry's development as a whole.
Modern construction project management includes a set of interconnected but heterogeneous subsystems that together should increase the level of economic profitability. The defining subsystems are:
1. Strategic risk management: Given the volatility of raw material markets and the high value of some materials, the introduction of circular approaches in construction management can help reduce the vulnerability of projects to risks associated with fluctuations in material prices.
2. Efficient use of resources: A central goal of construction management is to optimize the use of resources to achieve project goals. The use of circular economy principles will allow to use resources more efficiently and reduce the cost of purchasing new materials.
3. Strategic planning and development: Implementation of circular models of construction project management can become a strategic competitive advantage for construction companies. Companies that actively use these approaches can attract more customers who value sustainability and environmental friendliness of projects.
4. Waste management: Effective waste management is an important component of construction management. The circular economy promotes the development of reuse and recycling strategies, which allow reducing the cost of waste disposal and production.
Thus, we can state that modern construction project management is based on the principles of the circular economy and constitutes an integral system of competitiveness in the market. From the point of view of management as a science, this allows us to emphasize the importance of this area both for cost optimization in the construction industry and for the strategic development of construction enterprises.
Objective. To consider the impact of digital transformation on the management of a construction project in order to identify a systemic economic effect.
Materials and methods. The article is of a research nature. The article uses a systematic approach, which is used as a source of general scientific methodological statements of the formation and functioning of complex systems.
Results. The article proves that taking into account circular principles in the development of a management model for a construction project reflects the need to move from traditional management to digital management.
Conclusions. The digital space of a construction project is a type of modern management system where the key factors and means of production are digital data and network transactions, as well as their use as a resource that can significantly increase the efficiency and productivity of activities and the value of the products and services received.
