Summary

Introduction. The application of digital technologies in construction, particularly in the design of architectural objects, is a crucial scientific and practical task. The current stage of the industry's development is characterized by a transition from traditional documentation development methods to integrated data management. The implementation of innovative tools, such as BIM and Digital Twins, is becoming a fundamental requirement for the recovery and modernization of Ukraine's construction sector, ensuring transparency and improving the quality of design solutions.

Problem statement. Despite clear advantages, the implementation of digital technologies in Ukraine faces several barriers. These include the complexity of real-time data integration, cybersecurity and privacy concerns, the lack of unified interoperability standards, and significant gaps in the digital skills of the workforce. The traditional sequential process («Design-Bid-Build») often proves ineffective in a digital environment, necessitating a revision of contract models and organizational structures.

Objective. The objective of the article is to conduct a systematic analysis of the factors influencing the digitalization of design organization in Ukraine and to justify the transition to a data management model as a basis for increasing the efficiency of design activities.

Materials and methods. The methodological basis of the study is a systems approach to analyzing the digital transformation of the construction industry. A comparative analysis method was used to identify the advantages of BIM over traditional CAD systems. The transformation of design processes was justified based on the Common Data Environment (CDE) model. To classify the factors of digitalization's impact, grouping and logical modeling methods were applied, allowing for the structuring of technological, institutional, and economic vectors of the industry's development.

Results. The article provides the comprehensive structuring of digital transformation factors for design activities in Ukraine. The proposition regarding the shift in the design paradigm — from creating static documentation to dynamic management of the object's information model throughout its lifecycle — has been further developed. It was established that digitalization transforms the role of the designer from a «software operator» to a developer of intelligent algorithms. A key technological result in this context is the transition to the use of design solution plugins.

Conclusions. Digitalization transforms design from an isolated stage into a continuous process of interaction among participants within a Common Data Environment. The key vector of development is the transition from task management to structured data management within a unified state framework. State policy in Ukraine creates the necessary legal environment for scaling BIM technologies and should be directed toward the systematic development of digitalization in construction. The further development of the industry will depend on the ability of design organizations to adapt their internal culture and human resources to the requirements of the digital economy.
