Introduction. The national project “Big Construction” provides the restoration of more than 6,000 km of roads in 2020. Taking into account the unsatisfactory condition of the vast majority of public roads and the need to reinforce them, there is a need to use modern technologies that allow maximum using the existing pavement designs as a basis and reinforce them while ensuring high quality roads and their durability. Such technologies should open a real prospect of increasing the transit attractiveness of our country and eliminate the need to introduce seasonal restrictions on the passage of HGV. The technology of «whitetopping» is used in order to ensure greater reliability of existing pavements, even with increased loads on the pavement and the restoration of existing roads with asphalt pavement.
Purpose. Repair and reinforcement of non-rigid pavement using the «whitetopping» technology.
Results. The result of the work is to determine the features of the road pavement reinforcement technology with cement layers and to establish the possibility of using the «whitetopping» technology for the restoration of public roads.
Conclusions. «Whitetopping» technology is the optimal combination of asphalt and cement concrete in pavement structures. Under certain conditions, it allows effectively using the existing non-rigid pavements as a basis for cement layers, reinforce them and increase the durability of such pavements.
